Three Years Later: CME's Strategic Shift Leads to Over 1 Million Paying Voyo Subscribers

Prague, 26th February 2024: CME announces that it has recently surpassed 1 million paying Voyo subscribers across its markets. This milestone comes just three years after the acquisition of CME by PPF Group and represents a nearly seven-fold increase since 2020. The most significant growth in subscribers comes from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Slovenia, making Voyo the leading local SVOD provider in most of CME Group's markets. 

CME began its journey towards the 1 million Voyo subscriber milestone in the fall of 2020 when PPF Group became the new owner. At the time, Voyo had 135,000 subscribers across the region.  The PPF Group’s continuous support of CME‘s digital transformation has fueled its strategy of creating market leading, high-quality local content to be featured on Voyo. 

In January 2021, the new Voyo strategy was announced, and since then 37 Voyo Originals have been released across the CME group, as well as a myriad of other local programming content available to linear viewers in addition to SVOD users. An additional 7 new local Voyo Originals will join this line-up during this year. CME‘s heavy investment in content creation, supported by investments in technology upgrades and distribution channels, and the repositioning of the brand, has allowed Voyo to become the number one local SVOD provider in most of our CME regions.
